The original Fontaine began as a stand-mounted monitor intended primarily for near-field listening in smaller rooms. That first design was basically the top section of the original Andra giving listeners a view into the high and mid frequencies in a compact speaker. As the model evolved, vast improvements were made to almost every aspect of the design. Most noticeable of these improvements is the cabinet. The Fontaine Signature is now a floor-standing design allowing better use of the larger cabinet volume. Dual midrange carbon fiber drivers and a modified, bass-reflex loading combines to present an impressive, well-balanced two-way speaker that can even fill very large rooms. The Fontaine Signature presents a detailed soundstage that belies its size, making it a real contender.
